Commands

You can play a whole game without typing a single one. The buttons under the board do most of the work, and the rest is here when you want it.

Under every board

Three buttons, and that’s most of the game.

My shelf

See the potions you’re holding. Only you can see them.

Play a word

Pick a square and a direction, type your word, and check the preview before you pour it in.

Challenge

Think the last word is made up? Call it before the next turn.

Everything else

Type / in any channel to see these in Discord. Grey words after a command are the bits you fill in.

Starting a game
/newgame
Start a game in its own thread. A form asks who’s playing, which rules, or whether you’d rather play the cat.
/join
Join the game in this thread.
/starthost
Begin once everyone’s in.
/uninvite @personhost
Start without someone who hasn’t joined.
/cancelhost
Call off a game before it starts.
/handicap @player %host
Make a strong player’s words score less, like 75%. Set it before the game starts.

On your turn
/play
Place a word. The same as Play a word.
/rack
See your potions. The same as My shelf.
/cupboard
See which potions are still unseen: in the cupboard or on other shelves. Also shown under My shelf.
/shuffle
Mix up the order of your potions.
/swap letters
Trade some potions for new ones. Uses your turn.
/pass
Skip your turn.

Calling a bluff
/challenge
Call the last word played. If it’s fake, it fizzles. If it’s real, you lose a turn.
/twoletters
Every two-letter word that counts. Handy before you challenge.

Keeping track
/board
Show the board and the scores.
/scores
The scores, and whose turn it is.
/mygames
Your games that are waiting on someone.
/profile @player
Your lifetime record, or someone else’s.
/leaderboard
This server’s best brewers.
/event
What’s on right now, like the full moon, and how you’re doing.

When someone’s slow

After a week without a move, the game carries on without them.
/nudge
Poke whoever’s turn it is. Once every 12 hours.
/forfeithost
Carry on without someone who hasn’t moved in 4 days.
/resign
Leave a game.
